What makes us different? A look behind the scenes at "Grundl's reasons"

Our new format "Grundl's Reasons" will be launching soon. In this article, we take an exclusive look behind the scenes and explore the motivations behind the new video series by and starring Boris Grundl.

Recordings directly from the workplace

There was some discussion about whether we should film this format in the newly set up YouTube studio. At first, everything pointed in that direction. But after thinking it through several times, it became clear that nothing is more authentic than the place where Boris Grundl reflects on the topics for himself every day! So the choice fell on his very own workplace—which presented a small challenge for the filming. Nevertheless, we believe that the result is impressive.

Inspiration of the week

What keeps us busy during the week? What topics move us? Every day, we process a wealth of information that we are confronted with in our professional and private lives and through various media. The flood of information and the speed at which this content is disseminated, communicated, and discussed is breathtaking.

The problem with the modern world is that it has become so complex that it is almost beyond the grasp of the human mind. The constant increase in complexity and speed is taking its toll on us. That is why most people want to be satisfied right now, right away. Swimming with or against the tide without thinking seems to be the easiest path to happiness. Many people prefer to stage a great life rather than actually search for it. They prefer to talk rather than listen, are "busy," and want to "have" now rather than learn. Always with the goal of external validation, quick emotional kicks, and short-term results. More surface, less depth. But this higher-faster-further mentality leads to dependence and not to ourselves. What divides us dominates what connects us. Cracks, conflicts, and extremes arise.

A different approach to marketing

We deliberately avoid professional video production and rely on a "do-it-yourself" approach. Even managing director Jochen Hummel, who is responsible for sales at the Grundl Leadership Academy, is on site and works with our event manager Kolja Grundl behind the camera. We only leave the post-production to the professionals.

We want to be different because Boris Grundl is different. Building a bridge between a socially controversial topic and our own lives is an art. But it enables us to maintain a clear perspective. To ask deeper questions that can provide answers for our own lives. A successful and fulfilling life.

More flexible, clearer, deeper instead of higher, faster, further!

If you want to be free, you have to learn to understand life—without judging it too quickly. That is the great art and hurdle. More substance and impact, less actionism.

That is precisely what the format "Grundl's Reasons" is all about. Boris Grundl tackles a current topic that seems to be preoccupying the world. With a clear view and a specialization in distinctions, Boris Grundl uses mental differentiation to extract the core of the topic—which no longer has anything to do with good or bad, but rather throws us back on ourselves.

In the end, the question remains: "What can I take away from this topic for myself and my life?"

Every day, or even every week, we are tempted to make hasty judgments. We often follow our first impulse and either rant or cheer. But Boris Grundl urges us to listen first—to others and to ourselves. Put your feelings aside. Don't judge too quickly. Examine the perspectives and consequences. "Where is the other person coming from?" "How is this helpful?"

Absorb. Penetrate. Understand.

The triad is: absorb, penetrate, understand. Only when I have understood the world can I recognize my own path in it and follow it. And those who do not want to listen will unfortunately have to feel the consequences: pain, dissatisfaction, or stagnation. Only those who constantly reflect on the world can eventually understand it more deeply. And they will ultimately overtake the loud early starters. Those who do not train their minds to differentiate without prejudice will always end up in the superficial "black-and-white trap." But there is no right or wrong. Everyone has their own story. Their own view of things and thus their own inner mountains. Those who learn to broaden their views, change their perspective, and consistently follow their convictions will overcome their own inner Himalayas: there, everyone can be completely themselves! They are free inside—and they win.

Our recommendation for greater clarity in information processing

The intensive seminar by and with Boris Grundl, "The Power of Language – Information Processing," will take place from May 3 to 5, 2018, in Reutlingen. Clear communication through deep understanding. This is how people process information. Click here to register: www.grundl-akademie.de/termine/intensivseminare. Jochen Hummel will be happy to answer any questions: jochen.hummel@grundl-akademie.de
