How do other people benefit from my existence?

What goes through your mind when you read this question? Perhaps you have dealt with this topic before. Perhaps you ask yourself this question regularly.

I first heard this question twelve years ago, but didn't attach much importance to it at the time. Today, it's something I think about every day. My name is Jochen Hummel, and in December 2017, I took over as Sales Director at the Grundl Leadership Academy.

In my opinion, this question best expresses what drives us every day at the Grundl Leadership Academy. For more than 15 years, Boris Grundl has been dealing with the topic of leadership and precisely this question. Speaking of questions, are you familiar with the saying, "He who asks questions leads"?

He who asks leads!

Essentially, that is precisely what we do. Whether in keynote speeches, our open seminars, or in-house implementations. We always ask deeper questions—and that can be uncomfortable. Those who know us know that we don't primarily make people feel good. You won't find feel-good events with clapping and jumping seminar participants here. Working with us is exhausting, intense, and leads to your development—if you really want it.

Developing People

Leadership does not mean treating others the way they would like to be treated or the way that is comfortable for them. It means treating others in a way that allows them to develop.

This excerpt from the five tasks of a leader proven "LeadingSimple©" systemsums it up perfectly. Perhaps this is why the Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper refers to "human developers." When the meaning of the question "How do other people benefit from my existence?" had completely permeated my emotions, I found myself in an uncomfortable situation. I was facing a career decision that was not easy for me. This question caused me to take a closer look at myself and my calling. The urge for change, for real transformation, directed my focus toward opportunities to make this happen, with all the consequences that entailed. At that time, it took the form of the audiobookLeading Simple©. After that, it took the form of further books by Boris Grundl. I wanted change. I got it.

Once you enter the Grundl world, you know: "This is the end of all excuses!"

I seized my opportunity and am now extremely grateful to be able to do this job and be part of the Grundl world. I want to make sure that as many people as possible learn about our work.

My personal goal is for anyone who has the courage and willingness to do so to try us and our products! I am absolutely convinced that anyone who is truly serious about it can develop with us—in a completely different way than they may have experienced before.

2018 – a strong year

One major project I am currently overseeing is the transformation of the Grundl Leadership Academy as a brand in top management. We are currently undergoing a year of transformation and have big plans for 2019. This much I can reveal: due to the ever-increasing demand for our open seminars, we are planning to expand our offering in this area. There is no better way to experience and test the transformative power of our academy than at our seminars.

That's why I went on a hotel tour to Lake Tegernsee last weekend to find a partner hotel for our open seminars. We don't just want to be represented in our home region of Swabia, but everywhere our customers are.

Lake Tegernsee is ideally located for this purpose. Its proximity to Munich and Austria makes it an attractive venue for our seminar series.

As a reader of our blog, I would like to share my experiences with you and can highly recommend the following hotels—whether for private relaxation or business events. Or even a combination of both.

Park Hotel Egener Höfe

The Park Hotel Egener Höfe, managed by hotel director Maximilian Manzenrieder, offers everything your heart desires. In addition to fantastic wellness and spa facilities, you will find well-equipped seminar rooms with their own alpine hut, which can accommodate 65 people for events in a very special atmosphere.

Althoff Seehotel Crossing

Located directly on the lake, in a dreamlike setting, the hotel meets even the highest standards. Culinary highlights, beautifully appointed rooms and suites, and conference rooms offering more than 200 square meters of space for great events leave nothing to be desired. If you want to hold a conference or celebration here, Tina Falco is the right place for you.

Bachmair Weissach Hotel

Here, about a 15-minute walk from Lake Tegernsee, lies a little world of its own. Planning a family vacation? Want to combine work and private life? Hosting an event for more than 1,000 people, but still want to experience the flair of a down-to-earth, family-run hotel? Then you've come to the right place. Mirjam Schuster will fulfill just about any wish you have when it comes to events at Bachmair Weissach.
