For more than 20 years now, Boris Grundl has been intensively engaged with the nature of human development. An inner calling became a profession. Core of human development

For five years now, our experiences and intellectual efforts have increasingly focused on one concept— responsibility. We are now certain that a conscious approach to responsibility at the heart of human development. zest for responsibility when I experience meaning by taking responsibility within my sphere of influence.

We were astonished to discover that there was responsibility substantial research on the topic responsibility . No one had taken a deeper look at responsibility all its diversity over a longer period of time and published practical findings on the subject. We wanted to change that. So the path forward was clear to us. The idea for the Responsibility Index was born. In 2017, we responsibility more than 1,000 people on the topic responsibility , measuring the topic scientifically for the first time. It was exciting, but not always easy.

Measure social status

The Responsibility Index measures the quality of responsibility, i.e., how clearly respondents recognize responsibility three dimensions: human (who is responsibility?), factual (what is the responsibility?) and principled (what is the responsibility for?) in themselves and others. The index will regularly measure, map, and publish the current social status on the topic responsibility .

Previously, we asked ourselves how responsibility has responsibility been defined up to now. In everyday life and at work, responsibility is responsibility used intuitively and indiscriminately: we are responsible or irresponsible. We gravitate toward responsibility, call for it, and demand it. We take it on or pass it on. We possess it, face it head-on, or turn a blind eye to it. We admonish it, live up to it, or fail to do so. We transfer it or steal away from it...

Philosophy and Psychology

responsibility is generally understood responsibility behaving appropriately toward other people and institutions. In short, it always comes down to the question: Who is responsible to whom for what? Taking responsibility can be active or passive. Someone actively responsibility , seeks it out, takes it on, and delivers good results. Or someone passively waits until they are asked to do so.

In addition, the term is viewed differently by different disciplines. Philosophy takes a more normative perspective: Under what conditions can a person take responsibility something? What prerequisites must be met? Psychology raises the question of free will, but tends to refer to the ability to act or control one's actions. Here, the term responsibility refers responsibility to correct behavior. But what exactly guides people in choosing certain behaviors?
