In my last few posts, you have now learned about all six pillars of self-esteem. Do you remember what the first pillar was about? What specific plans did you make, or what promises did you make to yourself? What have you actually implemented? And how do you feel about these questions now?

If I want to plant a tree that will grow tall and strong, I must first plant a seed. If I don't, the tree will remain only in my imagination. It will remain a pipe dream. But you only plant a tree if it makes sense for you. So the question is:"Why do I want to plant a tree and how will it benefit me?"

Are you familiar with the transformation process of change?

Recognize – Acknowledge – Transform

Where did you feel the strongest emotion regarding the six pillars of self-esteem? Which of these six tree types did you choose? Wherever you felt the strongest emotion, you first gained the insight: "Aha, this is where I'm lacking something. I want to work on that."This insight is the stage where our mind realizes: "I should change something!"

How often in your life have you recognized something but not changed anything? If you are nodding your head right now, then you are one of those people who think that doing the same thing will eventually change the situation or circumstances. But now you know better: if you want to achieve a different result, you have to change something. Doing the same thing and expecting different results is foolish. The interesting thing is that, according to studies, people do exactly that. It's enough for them to have recognized something. This is followed by the famous statement: "I already know that!" But there's a difference between knowing something and being able to do it. Since most people linger in the "knowing" stage, they never even get to the next stage, "acknowledging." So everything stays the same.

What does recognition mean? And what is this stage about?

Recognizing means finding ways and means to take the first steps toward the desired change. Before I take these steps, I first have to ask myself: WHY do I want to do this? Why am I willing to take on this work of change? If you don't have a really strong and profound reason, there's no point in even starting.

Have you ever experienced a really powerful "why"? What effect did it have? What was the "why" that kept driving you to follow your path? Even when it was difficult.

Those who have a strong WHY can endure any HOW.

Ask yourself the following questions: Is your goal to live a life where you are the captain of your own ship? Do you want to break free from conformity? Do you want to discover your talents and desires? Is your goal to stop worrying about pleasing others and instead make decisions based on your inner voice? Do you want to let passion into your life? If you answered yes to all of these questions, then it is worth working on the six pillars.

People who have internalized the six pillars are free from inner conflict when it comes to making decisions. They believe in themselves, have high self-confidence, and achieve a positive state through purposeful action. They also possess a healthy dose of emotion and can consciously control it even in turbulent waters. If you have implemented this and already achieved results, your transformation is already behind you.

So that leadership work bears fruit

Managers who work on their self-esteem are more likely to see their leadership efforts bear fruit. This, in turn, makes companies more efficient and crisis-proof. Companies with a healthy working atmosphere are also immune to most external threats, such as competitors and financial and strategic issues.

You may be wondering what the positive working atmosphere has to do with the six pillars. Where does the positive working atmosphere begin? Exactly! With each and every one of you. This brings us back to the topic of "How do I lead myself?" And that does indeed have something to do with the six pillars.

Now it's up to you what you do or don't do with what you've read. Will you simply file the article away in your column folder, like so many others? Or will you ensure that you are the captain of your company, department, and/or life ship in the future? Make a decision now—is it easier for you already?

I wish you every success in implementing your chosen pillars of self-esteem.
